so...this semester is winding down, and this movie definitely looks doable.......but I wish time wasn't such an issue. I know that I could do an awesome job on something like this if I had no time constraints......guess that just isn't life though.

ANYWHOO....I have two more scenes to shoot, and then a week to prepare the whole thing after that. But right now I am exporting and it is taking about a half an hour for a 20 minute clip. I am going to put that into after effects and spice it up a bit, and then.....turkey.......and then back to work again!!

Kate will be editing the final scene, which is the music video, so that is kinda less stressful, except that its not at all..........but its okay, this will be done on time NEIL!

OKAY! bye now.........
p.s. the zombie movie for next semester is going to be written over December break, and then casted right away, and then shot right away, so that all I have to worry about is editing!

Rock U

The movie is getting started and I am excited about it. The screenplay is written and we have a really good story line going here. Shooting will be starting soon, and I can't wait to get it going. I am slightly stressed with all the other work that I have to do, but I think that once things really get going here I will be much better.

New Motivation

So, now that Kate and I are doing a full length movie, I won't be working so hard on animations. I am still really interested in that though.

Kate and I started writing down some basic plot and scene by scene stuff over the weekend. We talked to the main band members and we are going to plan on working either later this week or next week at the latest.

I am excited to have this opportunity. I really enjoyed making "Best In Shove," so I think this will be just as enjoyable. The fact that we are doing this right and we can actually put it into film festivals will be awesome! That is what I am most excited about. I would like to shoot for making one or two movies a year from now on.

This mockumentary will be about a rock band that is looking to keep their fans up to date on myspace. That is the basic concept, but there are other quirks built in as well.

Second Edition

In this I tried to add animation, but I need to find a better way to do that. Drawing on paper is quite tedious. I am thinking about a dry erase board. I don't know if I am happy with this.....but it was a first effort.

First stop animation

This video uses a song by an artist named Mika called Lollipop. Mika's cd called Life In Cartoon Motion made me think about animation. I want to build off of this video and do Cartoon animation to his songs. I believe they will all start with a person pushing a play button. Hopefully I can find a whiteboard, but I will use paper if not. I might want to do that so that I have those for the future. This is something that I am really interested in because I love music, and I have always been interested in making music videos.

Interests in Images

For my first blog I guess I will just say that I enjoy photography and video for many reasons. I feel like I can best express myself through photography and video. I am definitely more of an artist than a consumer oriented photographer. 

There are many creative ways to manipulate and make art with video and photography. A lot of people may not see photography as an art-form because of its technical aspects, but there is still a lot of room for expression. 

Many kinds of photography can be messy and feel very creative. I enjoy a lot of the hands on photography more than using digital photography, but digital photography and video can be "messy", as well. 

What I really enjoy most about photography and video is that they can take a moment in time and make a person feel emotions based on visual and/or audio effects. I love the alternate world that I can create or I can become a part of. Even if I don't make a career out of video or photography, I will always be able to express myself through it, and understand what others express as well. 

Although video and photography can be stressful at times, the end result is always amazing if you put in a lot of effort, and I am usually very pleased with myself at the end of a project. The more effort I put in, the better I feel at the end of all of my hard work. 

So, I am excited about this new video journey, and most of all I am excited to have more video knowledge at the end, so I can continue.
